Accelerated Reader Program for 2009-2010

The Accelerated Reader (AR) Program provides teachers and children a fun and exciting way to promote reading at home and in the classroom. A wide variety of books are marked with gold stars in the Media Center of Siebert to indicate that they are AR books. Students may read AR books and take the associated ten question test to earn points to spend in AR store at the end of each month.

Items in the store include mechanical pencils, candy bars, erasers, notepads and many other cool items. Students will receive t-shirts when reaching 100 points and their picture on the AR Bulletin Board when they reach 125 points! The kids love to watch their progress and teachers often involve the students in setting AR point goals for the year.

Because of the variety and number of books offered, the AR list of books is quite long. Each classroom, the Media Center, and the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library have copies of the AR list. We have included the list here that you may print for your own copy.

Please keep in mind that the list is roughly 104 pages long and will take quite a while to print. You may wish to save it to disk and/or print selected portions instead.
